Mix it Together

This week we try to mix the concept of our video together. Because the concept of baton is really wonderful we try to hold the concept to our video. So basicly we will use Faye idea but mix it with some element from my script. The element from my script is we will give more information in the middle of our video, so it will be more clear and will not left people in confusion. Faye scenario also will be changed so we will not use the church as shoot area and only focusing on hospital and athletic track. Other problem that come in our mind in this new video is; How we can find a hospital as a shoot place? but after thinking a little bit we decide to make a fake hospital, and this fake hospital is actually located in our classroom at Blue Building.

At the end of the weeks we already decided that we will use 3 actors in advertisng; Emily, Doctor and one person as the one that pass baton to Emily hand.

We are so happy because this two weeks, the video idea really stressed we out and finally it finished and we can continue to make the video and concentrate on different tasks.

Two script

In the second week our group developed two script for our advertising, made by Faye and me. We arrive on diffcul situation to decide the right script to be used for our advertising, as we found the two sript has strong and weak points itself.

Faye script is using the relay baton as the main point, this baton is symbolized life, it being passed to another person to show that we helped other people to continue their life. The video will use three different places: church, running track and hospital. The story is about a girl named emily who is an running athlete but because of organ problem she cannot run anymore, however by some miracle she finally got new organ and she can run again. The problem is; in the video we didn't mention anything about organ donation and it can make viewer be confuse, we ask Toulla and she said it's true, and the second is we use to many places, it will take time and cost, in addition we hardly to get the church that we can use. However the baton initial idea is wonderful and we wan to keep it.

My script is using 4 people as the actor and it only use 1 places, the story is there's a boy who died because of car accidents and he still have good organ to donate. The places we will use for shoot is a park, it can be anywhere and i think it easy to find a park. In this park the dead boy is passing with people that need an organ, I planned to give information above their heads about the organ they needed. After the boy meet each person he will hug them and continue to walking, it repeated 3 times, in the end of the park the boy will look back to three people he hug before and smile, three y person that being hugged will also smile. The story symbolize the boy died, and he going to other life while three person he hugged will life, but the boy is happy because he can save other people life. The problem is the story is to simple and we want give information that you can be a living donor that is imposible in my script.

Finally when we ask Toulla she said that it will be a great video if we can mix it together, so we start to think in combining the idea.

DURATION

This blogs is dedicated to be journal for my semester 4 final group projects in my communication course about Organ donation. Our goals is for increase the awareness of young people to start considered to donate their organs.


As a person that responsible for the making of video I have some consideration about what kind of video will we make for the biggest thing that disturb me more are in the duration, actually our group are decided to make an advertising programs as one of our media products, however i found it may be quite difficult because after do some research, most of the ads are only have duration around 50 to 150 sec's, and i have the feeling if the advertising last more than 3 mins it will be bored and will loose tracks. In Youtube i watch some good video (as shown above) about organ donations, altough its only around 150 secs.

The video is from Illinois organ donation The video is really touching , it give every elements that Im thinking off; touching, information and especially the music I think it will really touching people heart to be a donor.

the video also seem low budget and appicable to us to make it. Personally i will use this video as my refferences in upcomin week as the deadline for making the video coming closer.

Blog Critique : Basic Blogging for Women

The Blog, basicly encouraging women to start blogging. I think it's important because once in a while I thinking Blog is a great way to express themselves, think about new mom that often have after born depression, they may have use blog to expressing themselves rather than just standing alone taking care her new child. That is some of my opinion about why women must start blogging, "basic blogging for women" can be considered useful resources because it have interview with some successful female blogger.

The publisher of this Podcast is female blogger named Britt Bravo and she's from US. She is true blogger, and also produces podcast and teaches how to create both of them. She start posting this blog since last year at October 2006 and the blog last post are in December 2006 and since then the activity seem stopped. Her blog seem very simple with only white background, I got the feeling that Britt try to make her blog with formal concept, there not much design or anything that can attract our eyes, even she and her friends post with proper language.

Although the blog is created mainly for women; the content also gives useful material for helping every people to start their blog and enlarge it. There are two posts that actually catch my attention; 'How to Decide What Kind of Blog to Write' and '12 Way to Get More Blog Readers', these two topics is really useful resources; especially when u wants to start to write a blog.

The blog seem not very popular, as I cannot find the sitemeter i cannot calculate average reader of the blog. However I come to conclusion that the blog is not has many viewer, but even it only few people read her blog they are considered loyal viewer that often come and exchange their opinion with Britt; what I think here if they already exchange their opinion with britt, then she must be have done very got job. Interesting part is she do an interview with other female blogger, one that quite interesting is her interview with Katya Andressen, a vice president for marketing of nonprofit companies; Network for Good. Katya answer in Britt blog is excellent explain everything she's answer it straightforward makes people that read her interview bit jealous to her (I do).

Although her blog use many pictures; she never has the problem with the copyright. I think it's the matter of professionalism (I almost post her picture here), every picture she post always include the information about where she got that picture and the copyright issue. What make Basic Blogging for Women become very helpful to everyone because it gives useful resources from the expert itself that already success writes numerous blog. I don't know why Britt stopped posting in her blog; but I'm sure if she still continues her blog it will help a lot of people that want to start to write a blog either it male or female.

Finally the the last semester !!!!!!!!!

Oh my god the tension in 13 weeks of pain already finish, im so glad it's over now. Finally i can get a proper sleep for a month. I also can concentrate to find some jobs to get esxtra cash, but you know what make me really happy?

Seeing my friends studied till death for their final EXAM, ahahahahaha.

hahahaha glad i choose communication as my major it's make me feel relief right now (contrary with my opinion in the middle week that i have thousand of essay). Well i still have 2 assignment today, but it's almost finish; a presentation and a podcast.

Hoaah, i feel sleepy right now, i think i gonna take a sleep now. Prepare for my freedom day, hahahaha (i laugh a lot in this article). Bye everyone, thx Russel for your learning and sorry if i always late.

Something Wrong With Me

I don't know whats wrong with me recently, i feel that my life is ruin. My body feel not right, my timetable ruined and the ood feeling keep haunt me. It's creeping me out, i feel guilty to everyone.

What is this feeling?

Is it come from the pressure from last week of semester, maybe yes. I don't know what cause it, but i guees it's from my timetable. I don't know until mid of semester, it's ok but after that it start to decreasing and i feel is kinda ruined.

Ooooo, i feel like i will failed all subject in this semester. Yes i kinda mess with this semester, maybe because it's transition from leaving with my families to living by myself. If i think back then the source of all this problem is money, i lost my money a couple of month ago, for paying the rent ( i already post it in this blog), and i don't know that start the process opf this uneasy feeling.

It's to late to fix it now, I will try my best in the next semester to fix my lifestyle. The reason that i must go on is to try feel optimistic again everything. I don't know it's not the first time i feel this kind of feeling, it often attack me; what i hate from this feeling is make me depressed or maybe this kind of feeling called depression, hahhaha, i don't know that kind of psychological thing, but i'm sure with optimistic i can get pass of it.

Great Game on The Way !!!!!

Recently I seeing incredible game on my way to home, the graphics is so awesome. It's took 3 week to realize that game actually the sequel for the popular Blizzard games "Starcraft" (shame on me, to think Starcraft is one of my fave and i don't even know they creating the sequel). The preview just only show Protos and Terran upgrades and unit, sigh I still wait for Zerg as i always love this barbaric race. However terran and protoss sneak peek already make me ultra curious to this game.

There are hundred of new unit in the game, but there at least 4 new units that really caught my atention. Two from Protos and two from Terran.

Curious why? ok here we go

Terran Thor, my god this thing is huge, my first impression it's like Terran siege tank but thousand times way better, it have more fire powa and awesome conncept.

Last is Terran Reaper, it's just normal human like marine, medic and firebat, what makes it different is he can jump, yes he can jump. Okay i think it's cool just believe me it's cool. Its hard to find the screenshoot for reaper thought so just wait a couple day if i find it, i will post it for you guys.
