Simmilar style

I found This video in Youtube.com and i think it's great to visualize our video because it's have the same style as our video, basically the most simmilar is using only words without sound so people will get the message more clearly.

The video is using the drama advertising style and make us to thinkin what we must do. The different is he using a sad ending to make people really think and we use happy ending to make people pleased about they choice.

The Video is also being made by a student and got an A (we hope ours HD). So enjoy the video and hope ours can be like this video.

The Fun Parts

In the week 8 we finally done all our shoot. In Toula class faye mixing the scene one by one together the result is really nice and it's have more than 3 minutes, we still need to edit it more, but from now i can see the video it will be great.

However there's some glitches in our scene such as different position of some thing but we will work hard to fix it. Other than that the video is really nice and have good continuity. There's not much thing we doing for Video in this week other than edit it, but the next week we must submit our journal, synopsis, treatment, etc. so we concentrate more in our assignmnet consider our video is almost finish.

The video making: part II

Oooo..., this is really bad week, after editing in Toula class we founds many error in our video, start from the sound problem and accidentally caught the unwanted pictures. We decided to make it all over again from the beginning so it will consume more time.

The good news from this week is we got a permission to take a shoot in one of sports club in Wollonggong; It's really far it's take 2 hrs by a train to go there but it's the best option for us so we decided to go there at sunday.

In Saturday our group remake the hospital scene in Faye house, unfornatelly i cannot go there because i have important thing to do, so they make it without me.

In Sunday we caught scene in wollonggong and the groups seem excited when they see the athletic course, it's really nice and very big, the wind and the sun also friendly make us feel comfortable to take a shoot here.

There's not much difficulties in the making of this scene; because we got the great place and the group is really energetic in doing the shoot. However around 12pm the sky is being dark and we affraid it will raining soon, however it's not, the shoot is really smooth this time without any problem.

We finish around 14pm; actually we want to fix some scene but the track is being used by the sports club for some competition so we must packing up and we call a taxi to go to train station, I think all of us is sleeping in the train (i'm not sure because I'm the first one that sleep); yeah it's so exhausted but we happy. We arrived around 5pm in Central Station and our group is put everything in Jin/Shu place and go straight home.

The video making: part 1

In week 6 on Sunday 25 November 2007 we made first effort to shoot the first scene of our video. I'm quite suprised because i don't know there's a changing in plan for hospital scene; before we planned to shoot in Blue Building but now it's moved to Faye house. Our group plus Arya; our classmate (will played as Emily the recipients) catch a bus from Town Hall. After we arrived in Faye place's some of the group take a breakfast and clean the room to make sure it will not disturb the video making. Shortly after each person finish eating, Jin start to make over Arya so her face is similar with really sick person. Faye, Shulina and I prepare the tools and after that check the room that we will use for shooting.


Along the video making we also encounter several problems; first: we a bit confuse with how to take an angle in the room because it's to narrow and the zooming cannot sufficient to make a wide shoot, second: the lightning we borrow from PSU is not working and make our group affraid because we think it's must be our responsibilities. However after do a discusion we can handle all of that.


The shooting is going well and we have a lot of fun together, especially the parts when Emily sister; Emilia that being played by Jin is being shoot, it's really funny but in the same time it's make this parts is the longest time to being taken because we keep laughing seeing Jin expression.


The shoot is finished at 5pm it's fun but also exhausted, we hoping the best result on Toula class when we editing on Toula class the next day.

Visualization of idea

In this week we made an story board due to class presentation in the class. We made the storyboard together in Building 5 and its timing consume, because along the visualization we also just started to thinking about the angle and shoot type of camera. In this group meeting Jin and I have the roles as the visualization team meanwhile Faye and Shulina concentrated on the presentation of idea. The idea presentation is consuming much time as we started from 11am and just finished in 7pm, however we satisfied with the results.

Basically we have 12 picture and we quite satisfied with our storyboard as Jin the one that draw our board is great artist. In this time we also start to thinking to change the role of doctor in our video and change it with Emily sister. Below we it show the final image of our storyboard;

It's lovely and full colour too, basically the picture number 2-5 are planned to be taken in blue building, the rest of them are taken in athletic park, and for picture number 6 it will be use as the conector from hospital scene and park scene.

After we finish the board, i do the rough calculation of the length of video and i found that the video can be longer than 3 mins (the requirement for Toula assignment).

And finally as the result from our presentation is the class seem blinded about the organ donation, as Toula said she think when she tick the forms for Driving license she already considered as donor, but it's not true, there are few procedures before u can be considered as donor. She also said we need to mention that things in our video, however our video is purposed for increased the awareness and for the further information they can found in our website, as we will give it in the video.

Finally we feel pleased with our presentation as Toula said we have wonderfull storyboard, and we also must do our best to create wonderfull video.

Mix it Together

This week we try to mix the concept of our video together. Because the concept of baton is really wonderful we try to hold the concept to our video. So basicly we will use Faye idea but mix it with some element from my script. The element from my script is we will give more information in the middle of our video, so it will be more clear and will not left people in confusion. Faye scenario also will be changed so we will not use the church as shoot area and only focusing on hospital and athletic track. Other problem that come in our mind in this new video is; How we can find a hospital as a shoot place? but after thinking a little bit we decide to make a fake hospital, and this fake hospital is actually located in our classroom at Blue Building.

At the end of the weeks we already decided that we will use 3 actors in advertisng; Emily, Doctor and one person as the one that pass baton to Emily hand.

We are so happy because this two weeks, the video idea really stressed we out and finally it finished and we can continue to make the video and concentrate on different tasks.

Two script

In the second week our group developed two script for our advertising, made by Faye and me. We arrive on diffcul situation to decide the right script to be used for our advertising, as we found the two sript has strong and weak points itself.

Faye script is using the relay baton as the main point, this baton is symbolized life, it being passed to another person to show that we helped other people to continue their life. The video will use three different places: church, running track and hospital. The story is about a girl named emily who is an running athlete but because of organ problem she cannot run anymore, however by some miracle she finally got new organ and she can run again. The problem is; in the video we didn't mention anything about organ donation and it can make viewer be confuse, we ask Toulla and she said it's true, and the second is we use to many places, it will take time and cost, in addition we hardly to get the church that we can use. However the baton initial idea is wonderful and we wan to keep it.

My script is using 4 people as the actor and it only use 1 places, the story is there's a boy who died because of car accidents and he still have good organ to donate. The places we will use for shoot is a park, it can be anywhere and i think it easy to find a park. In this park the dead boy is passing with people that need an organ, I planned to give information above their heads about the organ they needed. After the boy meet each person he will hug them and continue to walking, it repeated 3 times, in the end of the park the boy will look back to three people he hug before and smile, three y person that being hugged will also smile. The story symbolize the boy died, and he going to other life while three person he hugged will life, but the boy is happy because he can save other people life. The problem is the story is to simple and we want give information that you can be a living donor that is imposible in my script.

Finally when we ask Toulla she said that it will be a great video if we can mix it together, so we start to think in combining the idea.
